We are only 1 of 2 Stream Hosts that allows you to control your own Transcoder with a Control Panel.  The panel will be released on October 1st, 2010.

Transcoding takes a stream at one speed (128k for example) and will re-broadcast it as a slower speed (64k for example).  This way, you can broadcast only 1 speed to save on your DSL or Cable uplink.  This can help eliminate buffering, if you uplink is not large enough to handle several streams.
