If your stream is buffering / disconnecting and you are using AAC or AAC+, it is because the latest version of SHOUTcast no longer supports AAC or AAC+.

Unfortunately as of version 2.6, Radionomy (the current owners of Shoutcast) has decided to disable support for AAC in the free version of Shoutcas DNAS. Currently, the only options to recover this particular functionality would be to either roll-back to an earlier version of Shoutcast DNAS (namely v2.5.5), or switch to Icecast 2 instead.
This is awful. If you would write a nasty email to SHOUTcast and post on their forums about your displeasure, it might do some good. Radionomy is ONLY interested in making as much money as possible. The just gave a middle finger to all the Internet Broadcasters out there. Here is their forum:
